A gasket is an automatic seal that is used for filling the space between two joining surfaces. This is usually done to prevent leakage into or from the joined objects when under compression. An effective gasket has a one of the most popular properties in industrial applications. That is its ability to hold up high compressive loads for compressed fiber gasket material. One of the world’s tightest chemically resistant gaskets include GORE sealants. These gaskets are appropriate for use all through the entire pH range excluding elemental fluorine and molten alkali metals. This is due to the reason that GORE gaskets are made from hundred percent expanded PTFE. Torlon gaskets are popular and more effective.

Gore gaskets can withstand the temperature from -268 o C to 315 o C that is -450 o F to 600 o F. this makes them ideal for both cryogenic applications and high temperature. Featured applications of torlon high strength plastic are for thrust washers that include dimensional stability, compressive and impact strength, non seizing vs. metal, its resistance to wear in both non lubricated and lubricated environments. Other applications include coatings, additives, testing, and composites, bearing retainers, brushings, seals, gears, semicon fabrications, thrust washers and many others.
